Title: Assistant Coach

Linda Derk is the owner and President of LDI Sports, Inc.  Linda has 38 years of high school, college, professional and international coaching experience.  She specializes in providing professional coaching, private lessons, group lessons, camps/clinics, motivational speaking and more to youth and coaches worldwide. 

Linda currently serves as an Assistant Coach at Saint Petersburg College.  

She served as the Assistant Head Coach for the Great Britain Women’s National Softball Team that in 2023 placed 3rd in the World Cup Qualifier, 2022 finished with the silver medal in the European Softball Championships.  In 2019 took 2nd place at the Euro/Africa Olympic Qualifier and won a Bronze Medal at the European Softball Championships.

Collegiately she has had coaching stops as Head Coach at Palm Beach State, Head Coach at Indiana State, Assistant Coach at ARMY, Assistant Coach at Temple, Assistant Coach at Drexel, Head Coach at East Stroudsburg, and Assistant Coach at Ursinus.

Professionally Linda has served as the Head Coach for the NY/NJ Juggernaut National Pro Fastpitch team in 2003, and the Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Firestix (WPSL) Pro Fastpitch from 1998-2001. Winning the WPSL and being named Coach of the Year in 1999. 

As Head Coach at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg FL Linda lead her teams to 3 district championships (2016,2017,2018), 2 regional championships( 2016, 2018), 2 district runner-ups (2014, 2015), 2 regional runner-up( 2015, 2017)and to the first state softball championship in schools history (2018).  Linda was named coach of the year 2013 and 2018.  

In addition, she led the Florida Fury and Team FLA 18 u travel team to success from 2007-2015.

Linda received her Bachelor's Degree from Slippery Rock University in Health and Physical Education where she is also a 2003 inductee of the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame. She also holds her Masters Degree from Temple University in Sport Management. Linda grew up in Ligonier, Pennsylvania where she was a standout high school athlete in basketball and softball (‘83).  She is a 2025 Ligonier Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee.
