In what was a great afternoon for baseball weather wise, the same couldn't be said for Titans of SPC. Coach Graf and his Titans fell to the Saints of Santa Fe College 8-2 Saturday afternoon at Jack Russell Stadium. "The bats did not come out early for us, but to the other pitcher's credit, he did a good job keeping us off balance" said Graf after the loss. "Despite the loss, I continue to be impressed with the young arms we have on the mound as Bob-o battled with not his best command to get us through 4 innings, and the also young bullpen did a great job of throwing strikes and keeping hitters off balance late." The Titans (6-7) struggled early on and the wind was significant factor in deciding this game. The Saints offense was superb scoring 2 runs in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd and then blowing the door wide open in the 6th with 4 more. Freshman Matt Murowski and Nick Garagozzo were the only 2 Titans to score 1 run each to avoid being shut out. "Offensively we will come around, we just need to adjust earlier to a guy throwing the ball away so often and start taking it to that side of the field", Coach Graf said. "Defensively we have need to make some plays that may be tough plays but at this level are the difference between them getting extra bases or getting us out of a big situation." The Titans are on the road this week but will be back home this Saturday for conference play when they welcome in the Hawks of Hillsborough Community College. First pitch for Saturday's game is set for 1pm and admission is always free.
