Volleyball 2026 Season Preview

Volleyball 2026 Season Preview
St. Petersburg College Volleyball 2026 Season Preview

St. Petersburg College Volleyball enters the 2026 season, with training beginning August 1. Last season, the Titans finished the season by earning a spot in the Division II-Sun-Lakes Conference Tournament for the second consecutive year. The upcoming season will bring lots of new talent to the team.

The Titans’ roster this season will be composed of 4 returners, and 10 freshmen. The roster has athletes from across the country including Colorado, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, and internationally from Brazil.

Richmeyer states “We have strong leadership returning and a lot of depth with our newcomers. I expect this team to be very dynamic with our offense and disciplined with our defense. Coaches are eager to see where each athlete contributes to the team best and see how each role will evolve throughout the season.”

Coaches
Head Coach Grace Richmeyer will return for her 4th season leading the Titans. Assistant Coaches Ces Garison and Becca Thomson will return for their second and third seasons, respectively. Graduate Assistant Coach, Tayla Tran, returns for her second season as part of the coaching staff after playing for SPC in 2023-2024.

Pins
“Our pins will bring a variety in their styles of play. Claire Pavick will be a great leader for the freshmen as a returning starter. Claire is very consistent with her offense and helped us in serve-receive last season. I look forward to seeing her continued growth.

Kaitlyn Austin, Taylor Hicks, and NaShawly Walter are all very skilled six rotation athletes who have solid swings as well as off-speed shots. Luiza de Araujo, our only international athlete on the roster, has a very heavy arm and will help put the ball away. These pins bring experience as solid and consistent all-around athletes and will play a major role on the court.”

Middles
“Our middles have been crucial to our success, and the incoming freshmen will continue to establish our middle-focused offense. Strong middles are a core of the SPC Volleyball program. Tegan Beuhler, Brianna Gibson, Carla Hughes, and Jaylan Moore all bring strong arm swings and diligent blocking. All four of these athletes have played on the pins as well, which really opens up our offensive options. I look forward to seeing these dynamic middles contribute to our offense and uphold our culture of powerful middles.”

Setters
“As we look ahead to the upcoming season, our setters bring a strong combination of experience, skill, and work ethic. Lina Cao is a returning setter, with a year of experience under her belt. And our incoming freshman, Camryn Brissette from Wisconsin, has a wealth of experience from her high school and club careers. Both athletes have size, power, and an offensive presence. We’re expecting them to set the pace for our offense, push our hitters, and help our team reach new goals.”
-Coach Becca, Setting Coach

Liberos
“I’m super excited to work with our defensive team this year! We have Emma Bond, who’s coming back to the team as our Coach-Elected Captain. In the spring she underwent knee surgery and is redshirting this year. I look forward to seeing her guidance and leadership from the sideline with her wealth of knowledge and experience. Also returning is JoJo Luis who brings not only a positive attitude to the team but is also an incredible defender and passer. JoJo earned a starting role last season as an all-around player, contributing to both our offense and defense. This season, we will focus on her skills in the back row. Joining us this year is Abby Kim. She brings intensity and engagement in every play, and I am eager to develop her skills on the court.”
